I talked to them about how they achieve equality in marriage. They said that they both need to respect every level of intelligence, spirituality, etc. about each other because each is at a different level. Part of this was communicating things about the kids from when they’d ask to do something or even when they would ask about them watching the grandkids. There could be something the other knows about that one doesn’t that would affect the different things going on. Through doing this they have avoided having arguments and live happily in a life of communication and equality. When asked what advice they would give a couple that is working to achieve equality they said that you should understand that the proclamation is scripture so the content should be taken very seriously. Just because the mother is the nurturer that doesn’t meant that the father can’t help with the children and help with dinner. Everything should be done together if you want to achieve the desired level of equality.
